Hi, folks. I've been reading these excellent forums for a few weeks, but this is my first post.

I am just accumulating parts for my first carpc, and definitely want to maintain a reliable AM/FM capability without a standard HU. Reviewing my options, and after reading all 78 pages of Mitch's HD cable thread , it really looks like a Visteon/Directed HD Radio with Mitch's cable it going to meet my needs. I recognize that HD Radio is only just being evaluated in Canada, but it would be a bonus to get it when close to (or in) the US, and it is looking more and more like Canada might adopt this standard. Regardless, my main concern is reliable standard AM/FM.

I have ordered the cable from Mitch (got a shipping confirmation back the same day on a weekend! ) and am now looking for the HD radio. I have found several on eBay, but all sellers only ship to the US. I could arrange something with a freight-forwarding company across the border (used to do that when I lived closer), but it would be great to find someone who would ship to the Great White North . Does anyone know of any vendors (on eBay or off) that would do this? I'm hoping that there may be some Canucks that have already been through this.

I hate to respond to my own thread, but this may help someone else in Canada.

I was able to find a Verizon HDZ300 for USD $132 at beachaudio.com. They don't deal directly with Canadian sales, but do have an arrangement with International Checkout.

At the time I ordered, they had eight in stock.

eBay often has sellers that will ship to Canada. I would know, I got mine shipped for less than 60 dollars CAD. I hear demand went up huge since then, though. You may have to email sellers and you may just have to wait, but they'll come up.
