Post stock stereo

Does anyone have any ideas about how to connect to a stock stereo without using the cassette attachment. I thought about a FM trasnmitter but that would cause problems for others on the road. I was thinking that there has to be a way to hook into the antana input in the back of the stereo. Any ideas would we appreceated.

Thanks,
kyteman

The technique I use is really simple yet no one uses it. I have 4 amps in my car. My Stock stereo is connected to my E/q and my E/q to the amps. You can pick up and E/Q at Radioshack stick it into your system and use the line in on that to get input. You can make a volume control. Or just use the PC to control the volume.

An FM Transmitter broadcasts an FM freq within a certain amount of feet. I wouldn't recommend one for your car. What you need is an FM Modulator. An FM Modulator is hard-wired directly to your antenna and broadcasts an FM signal just through your radio. DONT BUY A CHEAP ONE! A good FM Modulator will cost you anywhere from $80 - $120. Make sure you get a UNIVERSAL modulator.

Mp3Chevy do you know where to get a FM modulator that is not specific to a cd changer. Everything that I can find is cd changer specific, with no other inputs.

Actually, I found an awesome Accelle Universal FM Modulator on ebay for $76. As long as you can find one with rca input, and ISNT depending on the changer, you'll be ok

Cool

I would think that the easiest thing would be to either go through a crossover or to use a 4-way amp (assuming you only have 4 speakers). Either way, you can just take the sound out from your computer, get some RCA converters, and you just plug it right into the amp or crossover. This is what I am planning to do, but have not tried it yet. The only issue I see is that your are going to have to split the inputs to the crossover/amp so that you can plug your car stereo in as well.
