Post Removable HD question

For removable HD's like on Arby's, whats the deal with that? Does the docking bay just connect to the IDE cable? How am I supposed to put new files via putting the HD in a different computer with only one docking bay? Thanks.

If its any help I Bought 2 5.25 hard drive caddies one in my main system and one in my mp3 player they were about £8.00 each can be had from CCL Computersthey are in the UK though, but I guess you can get them where you are. Ive installed the one on my main system as master on the secondary IDE channel that way you don't have to worry about jumper and ****.

Hope this helps

The removable hard drive bay has 2 parts. One part is mounted in your case like a regular 5.5 inch drive. The ide cable and power connector is pluged in like usual. It has some type of socket on it (looks like the connector on the back of an old printer). When the removable part of the drive bay slides in to the permanant part the connector on the permanent part and removable part make contact through this connector. Inside the removable part you have a 3 inch ide cable and power cable to connect to you hard drive. The trick is to get identicle drive bays. 1 for each computer you wish to install your hard drive in.
