so what you are telling me to do is to go in to bios and were it says 3,5 floppy drive put it at none. i will try it later tonight about 4 o'clock when i am done school.

ok here is a update i bought a new a drive and installed it the light on the front came on and the computer went through its checks memory,cd, floppy,ect. and then text came up
disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter
so i inserted a setup boot disk and the a drive light comes on and stays on then the screen went black and the light sayed on so i wated 3 min then tryed to reboot the computer same thing happened what is happening. will the setupboot disk work. thanks

if the floppy light stays on then you have the cable flipped wrong

Ok i think you miss understood me i ment one i put my a drive disk on the light goes on for a min shuts off but my screen just turns black

try the disk on your other machine, so you know if the problem is the disk or the drive

You may want them to come over and show you how to reformat and re-install.

Ok i had someone look at it for me to day and he said that it is not dectecting the hard drive he said the cables look like they are conected right on singledrive an fliped the right way. he says i probly have to set the rocker swithes on the motherboard to the right pci bus speed. he did not know what to set it at. i read online if you set it at 37mhz or less it and it will work is this true. I know this hard drive is good thanks
