What kind of security do we have?? any pc ideas?
Mine was to add a camera to the roof inside above the back seats, and have it motorized and powered by the security brain. When a motion sensor sets of(wich is placed under dash for such things as interior movement) it sends signal to brain that tripps alarm 1,2,3... and 1 would be camera,2 would be siren, 3 so and so on... But the camera becomes active and directinalizes to the sensors location and records whats there and sends data to the pc and records on a big *** 80gig drive. Now take that to court and get your sh..tuff back..
Anyone have any good ideas as to add on another componet to our car systems that envolves security. So we have music, gps, ....and now I want security...lol

its just like a switch, on some security brains, there is tripps, or switch input. So when you have a tilt or a motion detection switch, it will sound the alarm.

The camera in the back sear idea doesnt seem like a very good idea to me. They are stealing the car the PC and Camera are in. Even if you get the car back id doubt the PC would be in there!
Id like to rig my FUTURE carputer to a GPS device and **** prepaied mobile phone. When the car is stolen the PC goes online and either emaild or ICQs me the coordinates!
This in conjunction with a dececnt quality webcam to send back a pic every few mins.

see I would be more concerned with protecting the items inside than I would the car actually being stolen. Cause I can easily disable its drivability, and it wont go anywhere, but they can just as eisily break a window and snatch the stuff when they want. I put a 110bd siren on it, man if I set that thing off while I am playing with my car, very bad head ache.

mabey you could do something with a cell phone to call you when ever the car was broken into.
also mabey some sort of engine kill switch
i wouldnt do anything to like lock the doors or anything becuase they would probably cause more damage trying to escape than they would normaly.
to bad electrfied hull isnt legal

made me think of a funny idea I had a while back, putting touch resistive pad that shock you when you try to open the door. I know they would hide nicly on my door handles.

i dont think that would work
most break in's dont use the door from what i can tell
or at least they smash the window then open it from the inside.

you have a point. But it should would be nice for those that walk by and try door handles. It would just be a deterent. as with anyhting if they want it, they will get it. unless you have that batmobile, and it shuts down like a mofo, auto slidding metal covers and all that junk.
maybe some bullet proof glas would be harder to smash.
duno.

i saw this stuff that you can "glue" on to your windows
it was like tint on the outside but it basicly made the side window shater proof
that would probably kep some one out. ( unless they spisifcly wanted in your car)
im looking for a link to it now.

finger print ID and Retinal scanner
I'm currently working on an interface for Sony's USB fingerprint id system as both a keyless entry system and starter/distributor disabler. I have plans to add a retinal scanner by December. I'll keep you all posted.
