Question Help! USB to Serial Adapter

I need 4 serial ports for my setup and I only have 2. I bought a USB to serial converter from USBgear, and I am very dissapointed. The unit has a device compatibility list which includes palms and scanners, but it list anything I have. I've tried it with an IRMan, an X10, a touchscreen, the Microsoft Cordless Phone, a Kodak digital camera, and a Playstation memory card reader. None of these work. I haven't found a single device that works on the thing. Do you think something is wrong with it, or do these things just suck? Is there an alternative?

My advice is to contact the manufacturer and ask them that question. They can answer it better than we can.

Cool

Hehe .. I wonder how many time I've said the same thing. I guess that's what we deserve for going for the lowest prices (like on Pricewatch). Just tried to flash a BIOS on an old Pentium motherboard last week that I could not identify even the manufacturer before (but thought I had the BIOS ID), wrong flash however so now have a useless m/b (although it wasn't worth more than a buck or two in the first place!). I could probably sell the few capacitors on it and maybe the battery and almost break out even
