my Dlink USB FM Radio to Car Antenna Adapter

I have had this sitting on my desk for about 2 months now and I finally decided to figure out how to hook it up to my car antenna. After doing some searching on this site for the radio and finding out about its unique RCA plug, i set about designing my adapter. My car has a normal antenna plug, so I did some searching online and eventually found a Motorola-Type Inline Jack at Radio Shack (274-710a). I purchased this yesterday along with an RCA Jack and went about hooking them together. The antenna adapter had a small diagram on the back of the casing which basicalled showed an exploded view. I took some wire I had and hooked them up. Some heat shrink tubing later and here it is :

I hooked it up tonite and it sounded great. I there was a slight interference when I had it up loud, so I might try a little sheilding in the future. There are a few more pictures here.

That looks good. I'm thinking I may need something like this too. What do you mean by a "normal antenna plug"? Can you post a pic?

Where/how would put the shielding?

Sure, ill take a picture today. When looking online for antenna connectors, the type I had was the kinda I found most of, thats why i said normal

and for shielding, i havnt figured that out yet.

I did some searching and guess my antenna connector is "normal" also. I'll be stopping by Radioshack tonight and pick up the inline jack. Is that a diode or something on the RCA plug end of your adapter?

I just found this, if you look here, in the red circle is a shot of the antenna my car has.

and for the RCA connector, thats just part of it, if you look at the link to the RCA connecter in the top post, you can kinda see it. That is the connector for the outside of the RCA connector. (thats where the signal goes) and the little part coming off of the bottom is for ground. Dlink used the opposite of traditional RCA Connectors. They usually have the signal going to the center with ground on the outside.

So on the DLink antenna connector, ground is center and signal is outside? No wonder I couldn't get it to work. Thanks for the help.
