Mine came from an old AT tower I had lying around, so most any computer shop would be a good place to look for one. Lots of old motherboards were like that.
Heres one for example: http://www.cables4computer.com/produ...roupcode=I0632
Google may not help too much, but try Froogle. It gives you items and prices and can be sorted.

Any mom and pop computer shop will have a box full. Maybe a $1, $1.50 at the most.

This correct to a degree. Some of the older ones used a diferent pin setup. I had a bad one before getting one that worked.

I would try another serial adaptor before giving up on it.

try this:
http://www.phm.lu/Documentation/Connectors/Serial.asp
Or are you looking for the pinout for the board? it is in the user manual.

I could never get my second port working on my M9000 either. I don't think it's a power problem. I think the motherboard is flaky - the pins for the second connector didn't line up with the standard serial port plug.

The serial adapter on the M10000 uses the standard ASUS adapter. That's what I got, local computer shop guy gave it to me. That and a digital audio board from ASUS. Gonna try to hack that in during the rebuild. Digital audio (SPDIF and Optical) AND Composite video. May the force be with me.
