VIA M10000 Onboard Audio

Does anyone else have issues with the onboard audio sucking? And I don't mean in comparison to high end car audio equipment.

when i'm listening to music off my board i can hear little crackles ... like the signal is dirty or something. this is sitting on my desk at home so it's not in the car yet and not turned up very loud.

also a few times the audio has just stopped after 20 minutes of play, and i have to reboot to get it going again.

I've tried the latest drivers to no avail, so i thought i'd see if anyone else has had the same issue. i'm considering asking monarch to swap with me.

Just installed my whole system finally, and have my Epia 10000M hooked directly into a 4 channel amp, and I get absolutely NO noise what-so-ever. Works great!

yeah i would see what they say and get a new board, unless you are attached to that one. i had a few pci cards that did that and they went in the trash.

For Windows:
goto control panel, sounds and audio devices, click on the audio tab, under sound playback click advanced, change the hardware acceleration to full, and u might want to lower the sampling rate if you still have trouble.

For Redhat Linux:
Redhat for some reason installs the wrong audio drivers for the via itx boards. It installs the drivers for the ATX sized boards, just goto your sound device and switch to the other via sound driver
