Good deal on all in one motherboard
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...452-1002&Tab=2
Does anyone have any opinions about this board i was thinking it would be a very cheep way to get a car pc up and running then maybe upgrading later. Works out to be about 10 dollars canadian after reabate.
Only 2 channel audio but that can be fixed pretty easy

Cant speak too much about the board, but I have used the GigaPro's and I will say, I love em! Run very cool, and pretty zippy. Great alternative cpu imho.

Tigerdirect + rebate too
Though at about $100 shipped for roughly the performance of a M10000N that's not too bad.

Even hotter: link
Beware of TD rebates though, they are some of the worst I have ever dealt with.

I've never ordered from there. What has your experience with Tigerdirect and rebates been like? Just curious. At $5.00 it's a pretty sweet deal, but if I'll have trouble getting them to pay the rebate it might not be worth it to me.

what are the pros/cons of getting one of those for $5.00 (after rebates and all) versus shelling out $110+ for a EPIA board... ô_O

I would agree that TD is a pain in the a$$ to deal with. Only bought from there twice and both times something got screwed up. I did get the products I ordered but it required way too much interaction from me to get it done.
BTW. I didn't see the $5 MB mention any kind of mpeg decoding. Maybe an issue, maybe not.

Isn't MPEG decoding something that would normally be taken care of by the software and CPU? Sorry if my ignorance is showing. Why might this be a problem?

The on board graphics doesn't have hardware decoding as a result skips in DVD playing may occour. With the lower processing power of that on board CPU I was thinking it may be an issue if you didn't upgrade the graphics, that's all.
