amp for EPia-10000M audio output

Hi,

I am thinking of getting rid of my head-unit and replace the thing with an amp.

Is there something special to consider when using the audio-out from the pc.

My old headunit had low-level rca-outs that I used to hook up to my Alpine Amp. Do I need to do anything with the line-out signal from the PC apart from buying a mini-jack-To-RCA-stereo cable.
I presume that I can fiddle around with the signal-strength with the volume control of the sound(a bit like a pre-amp).

I must say I do not know anything about this so all constructive advice is welcome!
