replacing HU w/ carPC.. audio->car speakers setup?

i have asked this question before and people suggested I get an amplifier and plug the sound card to the signal input on the amplifier.

I'm not looking for real performance, but I just want to be able to get decent sound by using the audio wire harness from the back of the car to my carPC.

Instead of spending 100+ on an amp, why can't I use something like what aftermarket headunits do... don't they have an amp built into it? If so, couldn't I just get a PCB amplifier and use that?

pc audio out -> pcb amp -> car audio wire harness -> speakers.

Should I be looking for a 4 channel 20-25W amp then? alright thanks.

you don't need to spend lots on an amp if you dno't need power. I picked up an el cheapo off ebay for like 30 bucks just to get testing and over another barrier in my project. Turns out it works great for the stock speakers. I also found an easy solution for getting the audio around the car from the trunk. Get a sterio harness for your car. plug that in where your radio used to. on the harness connect the wires for the front and rear speakers then plug the leads from your rear speakers into your amp in the trunk. they will now power the front speakers. then just run some leads to the speakers in the rear deck as it is an easy run. No cutting of the factory harness and it works like a charm. Hope that helped.

why are you limited on space?? don't forget you could mount the thing right under the rear deck.
