Question Best connectors for 1/8" output from sound card???

My Creative Labs Audigy 2 ZS has 6 channel output; however, it's all 1/8" phono jacks (I think).

I have some pimp RCA cables I spent several grueling hours hurting my fingers to make, and I want to ensure I have the best wire connectors for my sound card to match them.

Do they make short 1/8" -> RCA converter plugs? Where do I look? Please don't say Radio Shack, I want something better than Radio Shack - even their "Gold" line... bwahahahahah.. hahaha.. haha.. ha..

Radio Shack Cables would work fine, not a damn thing wrong with them.

Or you could pay 4 times the price and get something that's labeled Monster Cable and is exactly the same as Radio Shack gold line.

OK, enough with the Rat Shack.

So do I just get these 1/8" to RCA connectors or what?

Radio Shack has a plug that's 1/8" on one end and the other side of the same plug are two RCA jacks. Total length is probably an inch.

Please don't buy anything from Rat Shack.

At least look around for an independently owned Electronics shop. You may have to drive a few extra miles, but it's worth it.

Radio Shack is overpriced. They have a crap selection. The kid at the counter doesn't know squat, and generally doesn't care if your happy when you walk out.

Now wouldn't you rather go see a guy that loves electronics enough to open his own shop. That guy knows that making you happy is what is going to feed his family next month.

I have one of these, but A) it's a splitter which I don't want and B) I'm concerned it is of poor quality and will introduce noise. What do you guys think?

to answer your original question .. yes there is a 1/8th inch to RCA adapter. you want the stereo version, not mono as the plugs on your audigy are stereo.

If you get the adapter that is encased within itself. .. like this ... you won't get any noise as it's pretty close to a direct connection.

get it at radio shack ... get it at best buy if you want it to say "monster" on it ... or get it from a local shop like buddy suggested (i wish i had alocal shop around here ... we had one ... then radio shack bought it ... then closed it)

regardless ... one of these adapters is the only way to get that 1/8" to RCA so you can use your cables
