I was at the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) World Congress this week and I saw the coolest touchscreen prototype from SMK. It allows you to set like ten different force feedback settings for different buttons on the touchscreen. Here is a link to the spec sheet:

The only problem is that they only currently have sizes between 5"-6" because they are in the very early stages of development.

I also saw a track ball that you could mount in a center console arm rest that has haptic feedback and you can set it to snap to different buttons on the screen. This is cool because you never have to move your arm to touch a setting on the screen. But the force feedback touchscreen is way cooler.
