Fixed My Buzzing with AC Inverter

I have my first pass laptop mp3 player in my car.

I bought a 225kw ac -dc inverter from Target for $29. It had some sine wave thing on it. I use a Armada Laptop 1500, which uses 110v ac and the goes to 18v and 5v dc in the plug,

I play back to the stereo using an irock....

Experimenting I noticed when I plugged the irock using the 12v lighter there was a buzz at all volumes but not increasing with the RPM. I knew it was a ground. When I used the irock with batteries it went away. I knew then that the DC power coming into the irock and therefore grounding through the headphone was floating compared to the DC AC AC DC on the inverter side. I grounded the irock to the laptop frame

No more buzz!!!!!
