remote control with a-z

Hey all,

Does anyone know where I can get a remote control (I use an IRman) that has the usual play, stop, etc as well as buttons A to Z? Or any company that makes one?

Ya.. I checked out replacementremotes.com or whatever but they want $50 US for one that has A-Z and I don't think crutchfield has anything like that either.

You think there would be more out there.

Go to crutchfield.com, do a search for 'remote'. There's a section under Car Accessories for Remotes. They have lots of them, most $20-$30, including some A-Z ones.

I've gone through those ones and none of them are what I'm looking for. I would like a seperate button for each letter like this one:

Ahh that's kind of a bigass remote. =) I don't know where to find one of those.

If you're writing you're own software, you can do predictive input, like they do on telephones. You just press each numeric button that has a letter you want once and your code figures out all the possible combinations of letters and compares them to your MP3 database. On my system, with a few thousand mp3s, it's able to find any mp3 by title in about 4 key presses.
