home theater pc remote

I been looking at some HOME THEATER PC with remote control.
http://i10.ebayimg.com/03/i/01/9b/38/d1_0.JPG

I emailed asked owner he said its connected to power supply and mobo.. direct connection or somethng you would be able to turn off/turn on the computer. Now The remote is big. I have the CREATIVE PC DVD remote, do you think i would be able to configure the IR sensor somehow to work with the creative remote? Or would someone know a mod I can do another mod where I would be able to turn pc off my creative remote or even with my spare JVC CD-PLAYER deck remote.

I already have an IR reciver the CREATIVE ONE. I need a mod to make it functining all the time even with the computer being off, so i would be able to turn on/off the pc with remote.

i made a remote start for my computer(dont laugh) one time. I used a wireless doorbell, and instead of running a speaker, i ran a relay.

I believe the Creative remote works on a different Freq. I have tried with other IR recievers with no luck.

When I created the remote doorbell computer starter, I did not think of using it with a car... there might be a way getting the button in a keychain size.

anyway, for your remote needs, lets look at this guide:

http://www.modasylum.com/guides.php?guide=16

its way more complete then the latter one specified above.

I could suggest you the UIRT/2 for remote AND poweron. Its all indicated in the guide, with tons of URL.

hope that helps.

Just setup batch files and link buttons on the remote to execute them.

the UIRT/2 can turn on the computer - when it is powered by the WOL (wake on lan) connector. It just need to "learn" the button you want to use for that. no software needed, it is included in the firmware.

the URLs are in the guide.
