IR to wired remote?
I need to convert an old IR playstation2 remote from wireless to wired. It looks like the best way to do this would be to trim off the IR LED and solder wires onto where it was and connect those to the computer somehow. I would prefer a serial connection, but parrallel would work too. The software on the computer is MPXPLAY. Does anyone know how to do this?
If its not feasable, I could rip out an IR sensor from an old computer mouse and place it inside the remote, then run a wire from the remote to an IR decode circuit, but I'd like to avoid such a sloppy approach if possible.
