What do you use for radio?

What do you guys use?
I couldn't find exactly right radio system for computer for car.
only radio cards I found were just for FM. I know most of you might say who listen to AM. But I was just wondering if there are any radio card that support FM and AM.

I was thinking maybe I'll just go with PCR-1000. It's very cool device. but then $$.

The ADS Cadet has FM and AM and even has a good SDK. Only downside is it's an ISA card.

Yes, it is ISA, and it is only FM, but it does only cost $15 Australian, so, I don't mind..

I'm using above mentioned FM card as well. What good about it is that it can be modified to cover wide range of VHF band.
Starting from 30Mhz all the way to 210Mhz.
Im planing on writing some driver support for this card in my version of MPXplay.
It will have extended freq. control integrated in it!

1. I am glad that someone is using the same card as me.

2. To get different frequencies, you loose the original ones, so, is you do modify the card, you will loose all, or one end of the original frequencies..

3. HURRY UP WITH YOUR VERSION OF MPXPLAY...

You dont loose any frequencies...
You widen the frequencie range. You basicly program the PLL to accept wider range then whats it programmed to do using it original software.
So stop making comment if you dont have a clue what you talking about!!!!

In an electronics magazine somewhere, it had a websiter listed that told you how to modify the card for different frequencies be just changing one coil, this is what I thought you were talking about, if you did do this, you loose the original frequency range... OKAY!!! I know what I am talking about, but you didn't explain how you were going to modify the card...

Doesnt seem like it...
By changing the coil you dont modify the frequencies you alloy the receiver to accept wider range of frequencies. The coils are changed to keep the receivers sensetivity to an acceptable level.
You dont loose any frequencies.The frequency is controlled by PLL VFO... And those coils got anothing to do with it...

call me stupid (ok don't cause then I will have to kick some ***) But I use my radio for a radio (otherwise know as the head unit) Of course I don't want to replace my system just add to it. Granted I had to get rid of the POS factory stuff
