Talking PalmAmp USB support!

I just got an email back from Andre Eisenbach (Ironcreek software). USB support is coming to PalmAmp. No timeframe, but he said it's coming.

Now I don't have to worry about Handspring making a serial cable.

Have you emailed them? If so, do it again. It took me two times to get a damn reply. Also try emailing the guy at http://www.hausofmaus.com they make busker (which is like palmamp) and apparently they make CE software too...beg him to port it. He'll actually email you back too.

You can check out www.mattman.com - he has a windows ce plugin that allows you to control winamp using the serial control plugin in winamp (hope that isn't confusing). I am helping him test the wide screen version now. Currently his only runs on the screens that are tall.

Got that, thanks... I sent emails long ago to both busker and palmamp and got a reply from busker that he had no intrest in doing it and no reply from palmamp.

I have the one from mattman and it looks to have promise. Just would be nice to have some type of playlist ability.

Question

This might be way off... However - I own a Handspring Visor (USB) as well. I wonder if it's possible to mate the eight leads on the visor that connect to the cradle to a serial cable, and what the pin configuration would be. Hopefully IronCreek delivers. I would actually PAY for that software!

Cool

Yeah, I am using the palmamp exclusivly now. I have been playing with the WinCE from mattman.com but it isn't as functional as the palmamp. I REALLY like the palmlist feature on palmamp, just wish it were a little easy to hit the buttons (too small, but what palmpilot app buttons aren't?)

I wonder if the palmamp software will run under a palmos emulator for wince? I take it you have both a palm and a wince device.

I guess I can try and find a cheap palm pilot to use but you know the minute I do that someone will port it to wince! The mattman software works great and has potential. But hell I have 3200 mp3's! Kinda hard to sort through with 10 forward 10 back!

Thumbs up

"The people of PlayMedia Systems, Inc. have informed me about a trademark violation. PlayMedia is registered owner of the "AMP" trademark.

We are currently preparing to rename "PalmAMP". Expect a new release with a couple of small features soom.

- André"

Let's hope USB support is one of those "small features".

Exclamation

Has anyone had any problems with "large" playlists on PalmAmp? I have over 1200 songs, and PA gives a Fatal Exception everytime I try to use the playlist.

If you're timing is good, you could get one of these: http://www.markspace.com/cables.html

I had a friend order one and I haven't heard him complaining about it, so I assume it's working just fine
