I have an OPUS 150W and it is great; survives crank and everything.

I wouldn't recommend a FM modulator either, but there are other ways to add an auxilliary input besides replacing your head unit.

I haven't been able to find a pre-manufactured mini-itx case with these dimensions, so it looks like I'll need to fabricate something myself. Time to break out SketchUp, and toss together a design:

I for one think that the monsoon sound system is an excellent system. It all depends on what music you listen to and how. I am not much of an audio buff and dont care much about how many watts my system has and all that. All I care about is that the sound reproduction is clear and warm at a moderate volume. The factory monsoon system in my 03 GTI deliveres that no problem.

I agree about the cdchanger bracket being a cramped place to put the pc. But, i'm going to do it anyway - and i'm currently looking for a broken oem cdchanger unit so i can gut it out and use that as the case. Unfortunately, no one seems to be selling a broken one ( probably because they don't see the market for it ) and it would be a shame to waste 200$ on a new/use working one that i'm just gonna gut out. :|
