Many ways to do it; here are a few:

Run output of your soundcard to an auxiliary input on your head unit if it has one. If your head unit does not have an auxiliary input you can use an RF Modulator that plays through the FM station on your radio. Also, if you have a tape deck you could run the output of your sound card to one of those cd to tape converters. Those are relatively cheap methods of doing it. More expensive methods are running the audi output through a USB sound card straight to your amp (if you have one).

A lot of guys here hook directly up from the PC output to the RCA inputs of an amplifier. It has been reported to give a "jaw-dropping" sound. Wish it dropped a couple of other things....

Take a look into Ebay, there are a lot of cheap car amps for sale. If you go mega power, then you may want to get a CAP to get that extra juice when you need it.
You'll need to get a phono to RCA connectors to connect your PC to your amp. Then use Windows Media Player or Winamp to control your volume. Good luck..

This looks like a good amp...

i just want a little amp, i'm not a sound freak...[not that i have anything against them...] i just want to hear the audio created by my comp

my question was asking more along the lines 'what type of amp should i get?' not 'where?'

thanks a lot though

The reason you hear audio out of your computer is because the speakers you plug into the back of them are powered. The audio signal is uselss unless it is amplified, whether it's from a HU, ampifier, or computer speakers.

hey saikano
are you still using your stock speakers?
do you plan on upgrading them?
how many speakers do you have?
A 55 amp alternator is not a "bad" as you may think. If you are lucky enough to find a 20x4RMS amp (assuming you have 4 speakers) it really wouldn't draw as much current as you think, no more than your computer really. And 24RMS is more than ehough power to push your stock speakers, probably 2x as much.
If you plan on upgrading your speakers you have more options, such as getting a 2 channel 100watt amp such as the one found here
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...710974044&rd=1
and then purchasing 2ohm stable speakers and wiring them in parallel to the amp, assuming the amp is 2ohm stable as well.
There are several options for you though.
I have heard of, but have never personally seen, an amp that pushes only 15watts per channel @4ohms, which would be perfect for pushing stock speakers.
