Multiple video cards multiple audio cards

Hey all just wondering is it possible to put more thank one video and more than one audio card in a computer and use it almost like it was two computers?

Could you play different music on one screen and have something playing on the other screen with different music?

Could u make it so you could watch two movies one on each screen?

Thanks for all the help

Just wondering because it would be really nice if you could set like one lilliput up front and one out back and be able to have music playing and some one watching a movie with like head phones on. I know u can do the multiple screens and do different things on them just don’t know about the multiple audio outs.

I would appreciate any ideas

Even if you haven’t actually done something like this just some guesses on how I might rig this up and if there is any chance it mite work

yes, and yes. i think you can choose which sound device certain programs (like winamp) use for playback. i haven't tried either, but i'm pretty sure it's possible.

Yes. ThinSoft has software to do this called BeTwin. You can run up to 5 consoles off of a single PC with seperate video, sound, keyboard, and mouse for each. They also sell a kit including some hardware that makes it pretty easy to get going called BuddyPC.

I would be curious to know how BeTwin performs with this USB2.0 VGA graphics adaptor.. Using that, you wouldn't even need a PCI slot for your second (third/fourth) video card. You could really do some neat stuff with this kind of setup in a car. It'd sure make back seat dvd /front seat GPS style installations a lot easier.

Well a USB keyboard with a PS2 port on it makes the PS2 mouse just appear as a USB HID mouse, same as a USB mouse... however, I'm not sure that the touchscreen mouse driver appears as a standard HID mouse, so it may or may not work. The software does support multiple touch panels on the different monitors, so I guess, just get some stuff together and try it! They have a free demo.

The more I think about it, the more I want to try getting one of those USB video cards and putting a second monitor up front... I already have the monitor too

That would be nice if you do ever get that let me know how it works with the free demo

But how would u run like the different mousse and different audio without the hardware they have?

I cant seem to find any where on there site to buy the whole thing with the hardware it just seems like u can get the software but maybe I am missing something

Yes I switched from the Xenarc screen to the lilliput screen some time ago, so I do have two touchscreens, but I don't have a second video card to test them with. The touchscreen driver has some support for multiple monitors/touchscreens internally, so this might interfere with BeTwin's trapping of USB mouse input. I will have to wait until i have some time to try to buy and fool with one of those USB video things to test this theory though..

Or I might get a pci ATI all in wonder.. that would work too.. I can swap out the TV/Radio tuner for that..
