Unhappy EPIA video + Winamp standby problem

Hi, all, I am building my setup using an EPIA V8000 board with Windows XP Pro SP1. When winamp is running (doesn't matter if it is playing, paused or stopped), upon resuming from standby or hibernate, the video driver (VIA's driver for EPIA-V) crashes and Windows defaults to the standard VGA driver. I have to reboot for the video to work fine again. When winamp is not running, the machine resumes from standby or hibernate just fine. I have tried Winamp 2.9 and then Winamp 5.3 and both cause this problem on resume... I have also tried numerous settings on winamp and BIOS to no avail...

Does anyone know about this issue between Winamp and VIA's video? Is there a solution / workaround, except having to quit winamp before standby?

Are you guys using any visualization studio stuff? I use to use milkdrop for some visuals but gave up on it because it was taxing the system to much and it usually messed up the system coming out of hibernation. I'm using an Epia 9000 with win2k and the original via video drivers.

Must be some weird video adapter incompatibility. I have winamp on my comp with win xp pro sp2 and don't have any problems coming out of standby or hibernate. Oh, I do use a program though called PowerStrip to reset my timing for my PSone screen. Maybe you should load powerstrip on to control your screen res and color depth. It grabs control of the screen res and stuff after coming out of hibernate or standby.

I don't use any visualization. The problem also happens regardless of the skin. Right now I am using this workaround: I use Girder to detect standby/hibernate and close winamp before it, and then run winamp again on resume... It's a kludge, but it works...

Lightbulb Problem solved...

I don't know exactly what was that fixed the problem: At first I was using a small HD, to test things, install and remove apps, etc. When I bought the definitive HD, I did a fresh Windows XP SP1, installed the VIA video drivers from the site (I thought I had an EPIA-V, but it's actually an original EPIA), and installed Winamp 5.04 (previously I had Winamp 5.03). There is nothing on Winamp's update history that would solve the problem from 5.03 to 5.04, but now my system stands by and hibernates with winamp running without a hitch!
