Squarish slimline/notebook CD/DVD to IDE adapter?

I recently got a slimline slot-load CD-ROM for cheap, but the connector is upside-down compared to a tray-load drive, so a normal adapter would stick out several inches. An iMac slot-load DVD adapter would work great, but I don't want to shell out $25 for one (cheapest I found on Froogle). I remember someone on here using a square, or nearly so, adapter with their slim drive. It stuck out about 3/4" when on a drive, but that'd be better 3" from a normal adapter.

Anybody know where to get one of that style adapter?

Finally found at least a picture of what I'm sorta looking for (general idea if not the exact thing). Though, this adapter has 50 pins on the IDC, posts I have read say adapting it to 40-pin IDE is easy. I knew I saw it somewhere on here, turned up on page 10 of a search for 'slimline'.

Unfortunately the site that the picture is from no longer has it.

Numbers on it:
E005420-00A
GCMK-C2X
PCB.ADAPTER(HP)

A google search turned up nothing.

If anybody knows where to get a simular adapter, LMK.

I never located the part, and ended up paying for the Apple adapter. You might be able to get by with an Apple adapter, as they have 50-pin IDE connectors, like the HP.
This site has the two different iMac adapter boards.

Scroll down until you see:
CD / DVD Adapter Board - $25.00 - 922-4027
iMac (Slot-load CD/DVD / Summer 2000)

CD Adapter Board - $15.00 - J1066
iMac (Tray-load)

If you're adapting a tray-load drive, the J1066 should work.

Curious, what do you need this for? Some sort of HP slimline?
