Hark, thanks for going easy on me Going to try this today.
I also noticed last night that when the ibus com program was running, frodoplayer was acting real slow and my music videos started to lag. It seemed like it was pulling CPU power like crazy. It was like it was working extra hard or trying to interpret lots of commands, though I am not sure how to trouble shoot. My CPU froze up a few times. I stopped running IBUC com and everything works fine. I rand teh IBUS Analyser just for giggles. I set it to COM1 and man, there were a lot of signals comming through the analyser....then it freezes. Does thi mean anything? I really want to get this to work as I am sooooo close.

Haven't seen this happen - there is a lot of messages that go through the bus, but it shouldn't drag you down. Let me know if you don't make any headway and I'll upload my ini file as well (not sure if it's different or not, but I know it's working for me).

Here's another question - how can I make the SW volume buttons be the volume control for everything, regardless of the app I'm in? When my GPS screen (Copilot 8) is up, I'd still like the ability to control the volume - but it doesn't appear to let me until the focus is changed back to Frodo.

bump - there must be a way to do this, since some keyboards have volume keys that affect the volume regardless of which app has focus. Anyone?

Hi Ftouanen - any way to make the ibuscomm not a task on the taskbar, such that when you alt-tab it doesn't appear as one of the window choices? The GPS software I'm using (Copilot) doesn't embed very well in other front ends, and I'm using the "alt-tab" app to switch between music and GPS - but it also brings up the ibuscomm app, which is a pain. I still want it to be active, just not visible.

IBUS Help needed
Im just finishing up my carpc install in my e46 touring, and ive been trying to get my Ibus interface to work that i got from resler. Ive run and tested ibuscomm with cdrskulls settings for roadrunner and it interacts with rr, but when i press the steering wheel buttons nothing happens and there is no message in ibuscomm. Im thinking maybe i have the wrong kind of cable from the interface to my epia board. Im using a normal com extension.
Do i need a crosswired cable or something? thanks for any help.
Marcus

It is already done !
Have a look in IbusComm.ini
[Settings]
; IBusComm can be totally invisible by setting Setvisible=False
SetVisible=False <= will do what you want

So ibuscomm is set up to route i-bus messages directly into one application.
Is there any way to get ibuscomm to send the commands to windows for whatever application has focus?
Thanks,
Paul

yes, just rem out the AppClassSendEventTo="" line and it will work in whatever app is in focus, including your desktop.

Sorry to revive this, but...
I haven't been able to get IbusComm to control Centrafuse. I've tried setting the AppClassSendEvnetTo="centrafuse", and I've also tried to rem it out completely, but nothing seems to work. I can see the sw button presses actions occur, but it doesn't affect centrafuse. The CF hot keys are set to "CTRL-ALT-UP", for example, for the volume up keys (they are set like this by default in CF).
I've got the IBuscomm.ini file actions set to "^%{UP}" for the volume up, with the rest set similar to this. Anybody have any ideas?

does CF accept any other sdk commands at all, you could adopt the source to suit your needs like I did for RR. If you can point me to some info I would be happy to help
