my rat shack pro 91 is a trunking scanner. works great. Friday and Saturday nights, the scanner is non-stop busy. Detroit Police are very busy for some reason

I had the same problem here when the state policed switched over. I searched google, yahoo and found this site http://www.scannersandmore.com . Their prices are no where near $8,000 . I think the most expensive one they have is right under $600.00
