Question No Firewire in my BookPC / USB HD??

I put a BookPC in my car over a year ago before Firewire was getting popular, thus I dont have a Firewire port on it. It is blessed with 2 USB ports though. Anyways, I am looking for easy removable storage either USB or Firewire. There are no PCI expansion spots, thus I would need some sort of an adapter to get Firewire goin (IDE to a Firewire HD would be the only real option that I have). Is there anything out that does this?
Otherwise Ill just go with a USB HD. Are they really just too slow (even to just play songs off of them)? Or is the problem just taking a long time to get songs on? 1mb/s sounds aweful, but still thats roughly 15 songs a minute. So, getting the first 20 gigs on would take a good while, but updates wont be that bad...Any comments on that? Also, are there any recomendations on a good kind of IDE to USB Enclosures (good = cheap). Ive seen a few for around 90 bucks http://www.part2.com/new/newca805puh.html
Anything cheaper out?

I havent seen them any cheaper than that. Hey I'm curious how you fit that book pc under your seat. I take it you put it under the drivers side seat, since there is the rear heater under the passenger side. Do you have any pictures?

I got my 4Runner down in New Orleans, LA where not too many cars come with heaters cause its so feakin hot So Mine is actually under the passenger seat. If you dont have powerseats, watch for a piece of wire that hangs under the seat for the purpose of unlatching when you want to move the seat. It will get ripped out if you dont prevent it from hanging. I also cut a square out of the back of my center console for the DVD player...it faces the rear passengars, but i can easily reach around for it.

sell your bookpc and get this!

That's what I did

Or you could take out your cd-rom and put in a hot-swap drive thing.
Having only one ide socket really sucks

It is a really sweet case

10x better than the bookpc. Easier to open-up and work on, easier to get at stuff inside.
Case quality is exellent, all sharp edges are rolled, & 2 case fans.
Plus it's got all the features like suspend to ram, firewire, 2x ide, 2x pci slots, infrared...

I just wish it had two serial. I've considered upgrading from my current PC to it, but I have two serial devices, and I don't want to use USB adapters if I do upgrade.. and wastinga PCI slot on a serial port card seems like a waste too.

Oh well.
