Angry No boot

Time for a question from me now...

Today I got in my car, and my mp3box wouldn't boot. I brought it in the house and it worked fine, it just won't boot in the car. The lights come on, fans spin up, etc, but no post.

Inverter problem? Not enough power from the inverter?

Any other ideas?

Your inverter needs some surgery, you might need a new one! Now you can get a more stylish one =O)

I have mentioned in the past- My inverter ate my PC. It destroyed my GPS antenna, and when running on the inverter I got GPF's ( AkA blue screne) and video drivers would not load correctly.

I brought it inside - everything worked fine. I put in a DC-DC PSU. Now my system runs great!

Good reasong we keep telling ppl to go to DC-DC but they don't believe us. Now for those that have inverters working fine...the possiblities of problem is still there.

Not to mention that inverters pull a lot more amperage than a DC-DC because they're less efficient... and then you're also introducing 60Hz hum into audio equipment not designed to deal with it (most home audio equipment has filters, etc. for cutting down 60Hz line noise, car audio stuff doesn't)

I figured out what it was... Condensation!

Gotta watch out for that. It wouldn't come on again this morning, and when I was messing with it, I noticed condensation all over the box. If I wait until it and the car warms up, everything is fine.

I'm glad turning it on when it was wet didn't destroy anything. *phew*
