ATX mobo users how did you hook up power on switch?

Sup all,

I have an atx mobo and i need to know how you all wired everything to have a power on switch for your mobo? TIA!

ATX power switches are extremely simple. All it basically is, is a momentary pushbutton. You can buy one at radio shack for ~$2. How do they work? There is a jumper on your motherboard with two contacts. One wire comes off each of the contacts. Basically all the power switch does is connect these two wires and complete the circuit. If you want to rough it, you could just just two wires that you touch together

I know you only need two wires to power on the supply and I guess its my fault for not really explaining my problem. I was talking to some guys on #mp3car on efNet and they told me to get a relay, spade connector and some other stuff to hook battery, acc line, and inverter to that relay. What I wanted to know was do I have to hook my mobo power on switch to that relay as well? or will it power on just by me pushing the on/off switch? Well as long as the power for PC is plugged into the inverter. Hrmmm... did i answer my own question? hehe well anyway...h opefully you all follow what I'm trying to get at. TIA!!!!

The ATX switch will turn/on off the computer as long as the computer has power. The ATX switch wires don't need any power themselves. If the computer doesn't have power, the ATX switch won't do anything.
