Laptop inverter works in a desktop pc?

I would like to know if the laptop inverters works in a desktop pc , cos are cheap and easy to find , ok Thank you

All you should need to make a regular motherboard work is +5v and +12v. If the power supply you are talking about has +5v and +12v, you will probably be OK. Note that notebooks are designed to use less power than a desktop, so you will need to be concerned about how much amperage that laptop power supply will allow you to draw. You will probably want somewhere around 5-6A at +5v, and 1-2A at +12v (depending on how many hard drives you plan to use).
