I would like to find a way to connect my hand held MP3 player to my car's audio system. I don't know much (anything) about car audio, and I don't think the fact that I have a VW New Beetle helps as far as customization is concerned!!:-)

There is a connector in my trunk for a VW 6-CD changer. I am wondering if I can somehow adapt this so that I could connect my hand held MP3 player (which has a standard headphone jack).

The connector in the trunk has 9 conductors. I assume a number of these conductors are for controls and power, but would I be correct to assume that two of them are regular left/right audio??

Any advise on figuring out which two are audio? or how to adapt these to a miniplug?

Any and all help is much appreciated! I could e-mail you a picture of the connector if necessary.

Do you have a cassette deck in your car you could just plug it in to that with a cassette adapter if ya did

I do, but I was just hoping for a "cleaner" solution, and thought I might be able to take advantage of this plug.
