Opus not putting out
I just hooked up my opus and it isnt working. When I hook up the power supply from my home computer in my truck it works. When I use the opus the mobo LED comes on, but the computer wont turn on. I used a volt meter and got less then a volt on the 12v output lines of the power supply. Any ideas? Does it sound like a bad power supply?

An Opus is an ATX power supply, which means that it doesn't automatically put out 12v all the time.
Did you hook the little jumper wire to the power switch on your motherboard? If so, try turning it around, (surprisingly) polarity counts for that with the Opus, even though it usually doesn't.
You should NOT expect it to act like a normal P/S, eg, you can't just bypass the power-on jumper.

I understand all of that.... It powers on the mobo LED but isnt enough power to power even the fans. With it hooked up to the comp and trying to power it I got less then 1v when I tested the 12v line. the 5v line is 5 volts though |

IT has to power on the motherboard. It will only power up when there has been 12v on the accessory line for 4-5 seconds. Are you powering up the accessory line to turn it on? Or are you doing something else? Also, did you try turning the jumper around?

Yes I tried turning the jumper around. When I power up the power supply after about 3 seconds it powers up the mobo with 5v but not 12v. and when I turn the ignition off it doesnt turn the PC off, and the jumpers arent in the supply. I am thinking that it has to be defective...... |

Any idea how hard they are to deal with when it comes to returns. I hope, since they have nothing but ****ty products, they are easy to deal with. |
