Xenarc touchscreen cable lengths, calibration and flickering

Peeps

Did a quick test run of my carPC today, and after a few minor adjustments got it to start up and run.

However, I have noticed three things -
1) My xenarc touchscreen seems to be well out of line/position
2) I get a slight flickering on the xenarc screen itself.
3) The resolution seems to have changed... but i think i can sort this out easily.

I am using a 5m xenarc cable extension, so I assume a recalibration would sort this out ok?
The flickering, could this be interference from somewhere? if so, what are likely culprits to this - My screen cabling runs with Ps2 and radio connections only. All power cables are at the other side of the car. There are, however, some power cables behind the screen but thats because the screen is housed in the dash itself.
cheers

Is the screen new? I mean, did it flicker when you first powered it? I ask this, because when I first power my screen, I got like 10 minutes of flickering and then it worked ok...never got them again. I also use a 5m extension cable, but no calibration was needed.

however, i will check it all out again soon indoors to make sure it all still works ok, and then go from there.

Could be the VGA cable (does it have strong shielding?). Don't run it next to any power wires.

Right click desktop-properties-settings-advanced-monitor, and select a refresh rate of 60 Hertz.

Did you take the monitor out of the casing? If the FFC cable between the lcd panel and the board gets messed up (and it is very fragile) these problems will happen.

I am trying to run it in 800x600 resolution, but at 60hz it wont do it. If i select 75hz it runs at 800x600 no problem. Probably something to do with native resolution or something, i dont know.
I did take monitor out of casing yes, but it runs all av inputs correctly, and works fine indoors. Now i have sorted most of the problems, i will retry it in the car at some point soon.
