A similar thing happened on my EPIA 800, it defaulted to TV Out - had to connect an old 5" Composite TFT alter bios settings and reboot - worked fine after.

Maybe the BIOS defaulted in some weird settings. Try to do a CMOS reset or use an old PCI graphics card and setup your BIOS.
Good luck

I actually had this problem with my Via Epia m900 a few months back. I couldnt get the newest display drivers unless I updated the bios, I did and it said everything had gone through flawlessly. Upon restart the motherboard wouldnt post. I couldnt even get into the bios settings! If you check onthe viaarena.com forums there are a few posts about this situation happening a few times. I ended up writing via 2 nasty emails and leaving 2 ****ed off messages and 2 days later at 8pm someone from god knows where called me back, gave me an rma, and i sent the package to cali, a month and a week went by and I called again asking where the hell the package was and what the deal was. They told me it had just gotten there and would be looked it, 4 days later I had it in my hands, turns out they sent it to tiawan or something- and all they did was replace the board! But hey, I'm tickled pink about the new board. If you arent pressed for time, write some emails and call some poeple and you should be able to get a new board outa them, or atleast some repair so it works again. Good luck!

Reset the Bios. Pull out the CMOS battery, and move the jumpers to the clear CMOS position. You''l be able to enter BIOS then. I have to do this everytime when I want to enter my M10000's BIOS. Otherwise, pressing "DEL" won't do anything...Wierd ha...

And connect CRT instead of LCD or vise versa. 1.16 does sets very strange timing for VGA port. Let me know if this works for you, just curious.

i went to the via forums and there is a prob with the new bios, also that it doesn't output vga
put in a ddr2266 ram in it and cleared cmos and booted again but when i put the share vga mem to 64 instead of 32 it doesn't output vga again think they need to work on that 1.16 bios...

Not sure what EPIA you have, but I know with a BIOS update you also have to install the VGA drivers with it..

I own an Epia M9000 which has the 1.09 BIOS. I managed to track down the old drivers for this- there was NO way I was putting 1.16 BIOS on there when it has been shown to be this dodgy! If anyone wants the old drivers give me a shout and I will email them to you.

but got it to work. different RAM and cmos reset. but the new vga drivers should support widescreens but i don't see any real difference with the old drivers :S
