laptop power when in standby..
i have a packard bell laptop and a clifford g5 alarm, my plan is to wire the power button on the laptop to the alarm to turn it on/off when the alarm is dis/armed, also wire the lid switch to the key so the pc is in/out of standby when the car is stopped/running. my questions, before hacking the laptop apart, will the power button still work if the laptop is in standby? if not can i get xp to wait for say 1min before going into standby after 'shutting' the lid? or is there a better way around this? thanks!
