Touchscreen starts off X-Y coordinates for first 10 minutes.

Here is a weird problem. When I resume or start my car, my touch screen calibration is WAY off for the first 10 minutes or so. So far off that the mouse pointer isn't on the screen. The computer still registers me touching the screen as a click, but it's way off from being accurate.

Then all of the sudden after 10 minutes or so, it's back to normal. Calibrated dead on the money. I don't do anything to it, it just comes back.

Anyone else have this? Know of a fix? It's odd.

This may be a stupid question, but is the edge of the housing touching the screen? It could cause this until the screen warms up. It also could be that your touchscreen controller is going, and it only works once its warmed up. I would no idea what could cause that, since most components start to fail once they get warm.

I have exactly the same problem. I believe I have been able to associate the problem with the temperature (when the car is hot the touchscreen malfunctions until the car cools down). After it becomes cooler, the touchscreen works properly. It seems like if I play around with the actual touchscreen cable (the 4-wire one from the touchscreen to the controller) it fixes it, so maybe the connection becomes loose with the increase in temperature. I haven't had much time to investigate it.

Hmm that is interesting, I never thought about temperature affecting things. Good thought.

Just so you know I got this problem fixed with a new touchscreen. The old controller is working fine with the new screen.

Had something simular, except that touching the screen would be way off after any boot. HOWEVER, if I unplug the USB connection, and plug it back in (after any boot), it returns to normal. My best guess is that it would be a USB problem with your machine. Try updating your USB drivers (didn't work in my case, had an ancient laptop), or uninstalling and reinstalling the entire USB interface on your machine before you suspect anything else.
