If im having the pc in the boot, how do i get the cables to the dvd drive in the dash

The ide cable and molex will need to be at least 8 feet long, how is this possible?

Or would it be better to put the pc under a chair?

Although the cable still needs to be 4 feet long?

HELP PLEASE

Use a IDE -> USB converter and then run a 8 foot usb cable from the back to the drive. For the molex connector use 4 strands of 18 gauge wire to run the power to the drive.

edit: something like this.

Thats if your using the drive in your house. Then you would give the power to the drive from the power supply. You really don't need it in the car unless your using an inverter then you could use the power supply instead of running the 8 feet of wire for the molex connector.

There's several people using lengthy IDE cables. Do a search on "IDE cables" or "IDE length" or variations. You'll find posts on running lengthy IDE cables.

i also recommend getting a IDE to USB adapter. is it a slim drive? then you will need to find one for that. and then just run power from your power supply

Make your own IDE cables...it's quite easy.
