IR Device that transmits data

Is there an IR device that with a software (skinnable or we could with the library to control it over VB6) that can act as a remote control??

Like there are for Pocket PCs and smartphones!!

I want to have ym proccessor's remote on the PC!

yes, its possbile, you just need any remote, and an ir reciever. then you train the reciever to recognize the remote's patterns and you're off.

I only have IRMan.. Will it work? How do I train the receiver? With which app?

Not sure I totally understand. The IRMan is a receiver, it isn't able to transmit data.
However if you are looking at trying to control software with a normal (TV,Video,etc) remote control and the IRMan plugged into a PC, then there should be a wealth of software out there. Try looking at the evation web site: http://www.evation.com/software/windows.html

Not sure how much of it is skinnable though, but once it's setup you don't generally need to play with it again.

yeah the UIRT is built will transmit and recieve codes. It was 5 years since i built mine so I suspect there is a new version - possibly with USB now. Really easy device to make.
