USB 2.0 issues PLEASE HELP!

I have a Commell LV-670 motherboard with the Intel 845 chip set. I love this MB and it boots quite fast. However i have a problem with usb 2.0

The bios and MB support the usb 2.0 and i do have the enhanced usb line in device manager. All checks out... however when i plug any usb 2.0 device into the port it will not work.

For example i purchased 2 Belkin tetra hubs. It has a light that will let you know the connection speed.

When i plug it in the 2.0 light is lit but it will not show up in windows. When i disable 2.0 in my bios it will connect at 1.1 and work just fine.

I tried installing all different drivers but none made a difference. Any usb 1.0 device i plug in works great, any 2.0 device will not connect unless i manually disable 2.0 in bios.

I am running windows XP sp2 with the LV670 motherboard.

.

Hmm, look more closely at the BIOS maybe there's some weird setting that we're missing... For example telling the bios to use 2.0 or something..

I tried but no avail! There are 2 USB settings...

1. Enable Usb host controller
2. Enable High speed Usb 2.0

Both enabled

Figures a jackass in a 610 hp Camaro would reply like this... I am not some damn noob who knows nothing about computers.

Anyway I do not have the option. When i disable the Usb controller it completley grays out the USB 2.0 option.. So you need to enable the Usb controller in order to determine if you enable or disable 2.0

What chipset does this mobo run off of? In my case, I had to install the VIA Hyperion chipset drivers to get my hardware to work properly. Good luck.

The mobo used the Intel 845 Chipset, i tried d/ling all of the intel drivers from their site. However everything says windows xp has it already. The driver is from 2002 and i am trying to see if there is a later one out there. Hopefully Commell will get back to me soon.
