Datasheet for the keypad

I am attempting to build stations in each room of the house for controlling music in that room. Each will have a 40x4 LCD display, an IRman, and a keypad. However, I dont like using standard keypads (too bulky) and touch screens add about $400 to each station.

What are the chances that I can get the above keypad to work with the winamp keyboard plugin? I would love to be able to scroll playlists but I dont think anyone has written a plugin for that yet.

If this is a lost cause, anyone got any custom keyboard projects that they have made?

Another option would be to get some cheap gamepads (like 10 bucks each), and just control winamp with those. Winamp has some plugins that allow control from a gamepad. I'm currently controlling winamp in my car using a microsoft usb sidewinder.

I'm using MindTwist with Insta-disc. Works pretty good but MindTwist supports only 4 buttons :0( http://www.mindtwist.com
