Audio Problems

Ok, here is the senerio
MII 10000, 512 MB Ram, WinXP w/SP2
First started with using the on board Audio. I plugged it into my home stereo just to hear it. Lots of humming as soon as I plugged it into the RCA inputs on the stereo, even with the volume on the computer down low. So, I thought it might be the cheap cable I bought, so I went out and bout a Monster cable ($30), NO difference, same problem. No matter how I adjusted both devices volume still lots of humming.
Went and bought a Audigy NX USB, has to cure the problem right, Nope same thing.
I did make sure I seperated all the cables so they weren't running right next to each other.
But if I take my 30 dollar MP3 player and plug it into the same cable sounds great no humming.

I really need some advice before this $900 paper weight goes through a window

Thanks

Krustydawg

Buy a ground loop isolator (got mine from Best Buy), and make sure your computers case is well grounded.

Grounded it to what, it has not left my house yet. This is all running off of the AC power adapter (sorry I forgot to mention that).

I think I am going to diconnect the CF and PMCIA adapter and see is that is what is causing the humming.

Thanks
