Question Help or i'll DIE

First i want to say sorry for my english.

i have so much problems with my carpc project that i even dont know with what to start.

i spent a week trying to fix the problems.
one of my problem is.
i bught from mp3car a slim dvd drive and the adapter for it, now because my pc located in the trunk and the dvd rom in the front dash i diceded to buy that ide to usb 2.0 adapter. i did all the connections. when it came to installtion i use the network to install the drivers but some how it doesnt work it say you have to use high speed usb hub but i dont think its the problem why the dvd rom doesnt work. then it say an error acoured code No. 10 ???? my quastion is why the dvd rom even dont have a power it even wont turn on or do i have to connect other wires to the ide adapter ?

I'm assuming you already connected it to a 5V line. Your problem might also be if you're using a non powered USB hub.

Your IDE cable might be upside down causing the drive to not power up. If it won't even eject, that's probably the problem.

The USB 2.0 warning will come up every time you plug a USB 2.0 device into a non-USB2.0 port.

Error 10 means the device isn't 'starting'. Try downloading the drivers to your system, then installing.

You have to power the slim DVD drive from the 5V line from the PSU. It can't work if it isn't powered, can it...

On the back of the slim dvd unit there is a floppy style connector. Connect the floppy molex from the PSU in there and this way the slim DVD unit is powered. If you extend those wires, you'll only need the red one (5V) and the black one, right next to the red one (gnd for 5V). The yellow one is 12V and the one right next to the yellow one is the gnd for 12V. For a slim dvd, you'll only need the 5V lines.


The connector in the left is the one I'm talking about.

thanks alot man one more quastion do you know wich one of this 4 sticks is the 5v and the ground ?

the 5v is the one closer to the ide connector and the ground the one next from the pic:
