Turn the pc on from the boot

Well i just finished hooking up the power switch to my car and thought id share this idea to anyone who wanted a cleaner install.

Ok what i did was found an old junked pc case on the side of the road

I cut 3 wires from the case i cut the power wire to the led and the reset switch and the hdd wire.

This gave me the same plug that will plug into the motherboard to turn the pc on.

I then brought a 50pin header i think there called (it looks like the pins on the back of a HDD ide connection or the jumper pins on a mothrboard)

I then broke it so only 6 pins remained then soldered the 3 together from one side then 3 from the otherside.

After i did this i soldered the HDD wire and Power wire from the old case together so i had a cable with 2 plugs on the end.

now i unplugged the power switch wire from the case and put it in slot one of the 6 pins bridge i just made.

then on slot 2 i put the cable i made and plugged it into slot 2 and the power pins on the motherboard.

I then plugged the spare ply into slot 3 then soldered the end wires to a RCA plug.

Then the RCA plug was added to the back of the case and secured.

Now it looks like a normal mini-itx pc with a RCA plug on the back of it.

now the pc can be turned on frm the power button or by the RCA plug.

The reason i did this was i ran 4 RCA wires from the boot to the front of the car.

2 were for Audio left and Audio right and 1 was for the reverse camera video signal.

This leaves me with 1 RCA plug left which is used to turn the pc in the boot on from the front.

A simple clean way to turn the PC on

Now im sure i didn't make sense but i have no pictures

But you need 3 of these from an old PC case as long as there 2 pin plugs there fine so a HDD reset and Power wires are all u need.

2 of them were soldered together so it has the same plug on both ends and one was soldered onto a rca plug like this

and your using one of these to connect all the wires instead of splicing the wires together
