Upgraded power management
Support for the latest processors
Support for large drives
I was most interested in power management
There is a big list from there website www.esupport.com
I talked to a guy there and he said that they had that board in a few months ago. the current bios was back in 05/06/2003
so this one should fix some problems

this is going to be a stupid question, but.. is there anything they might be able to do with the onboard video, for instance, in order to obtain 800x480 display? (or whatever the hell the native resolutions for xenarc and lilliput are)

i think that we can get that put into the bios but it would probably cost more and one of us would have to send in the board.
I went ahead and ordered it. I received it by email and fowarded it to JCdillin
He said it loaded fine but now windows is not loading. If anyone wants to try it at their own risk i will email them the file. PM me or email me.

I am working with JCdillin to get it to work. I'll keep everyone posted
Edit: There support center is closed but i am confident that we can get a good bios from them that will fix some issues that we currently have.
I am going to test the bios on my machine tonight. I am brining the computer inside and flashing it to test it out. I will report any problem with the technical support.
I have held off accepting the Paypal donation until i can provide something working.
I think it is worth it to do this. Tomorrow i will contact support and ask them about engineering a 800x480 support however i assume that it will be the same situation as with the via EPIA that we will need a bios/driver combination.
Stay tuned. If you know other people with this board please foward them this link so and get them subscribed so we can get everyone collaberting on this one.
We need to stick together on this one

Update:
After much testing of the Bios file that they sent me here is the results:
Bios flashed properly
Posted fine (this time it detected my p4-m cpu correct clock speed)
Floppy drive faulure.
Windows loads and then the CPU gets 100% shortly after loading
I called tech support and they sent me another file. I gave that a go and all i get is one long beep. no post
I am going to send in my motherboard for their engineers to look at so that they can get it working. Luckily the p4-itx looks like it has a removable bios chip.
If you want to support this effort i will please paypal me. I am absorbing all the upfront cost and this is something that will benifit all P4 ITX owners.
I will keep this thread updated.
@SFiorito
It is an award bios but they do engineer bios so they might be able to change the bios chip for you. This is beyond the scope of what we are trying to achieve here. Give them a call to see if they can help you out with your specific needs.

I will be sending out my board today to there address. They will take the board and install the correct bios onto it. Then they will verify that it works. Then they will make sure that any additional requirments are fixed.
If you guys have any request post em here within the next couple of hours and i can include them.

Yes i did. Thank you kindly
I will request a copy of the bios sent to me by email as soon as they verify that it works. I will foward it on to whoever contributes firstly and then when i have spread out the cost i will make it available to all
The board is being overnighted so it should be there tomorrow. They said ~1 to 2 weeks which is fair.
I will keep this thread updated.
Thanks for all your support

see that's weird, because I talked to them about 8 months ago about upgrading the BIOS on my VIA MII. I was hoping they could engineer it using another BIOS (AMIBIOS8 for instance) because I needed it to have Hi-Speed USB Legacy support, but they just blew me off and said to download the BIOS update from VIA. I called them again about an Intel board and same thing. So what you're doing seems amazing to me, since based on my conversations with them it seemed to me that they didn't actually engineer anything, but just handed out existing manufacturer BIOS updates.

Thanks for "sacrificing" your board for this upgrade for the next couple of weeks, Antimatter.
Quick question:
I forget if the P4-ITX kills the power to the USB ports on shutdown/hibernate - if not, would it be worthwhile to ask them to include this feature, or make it optional? Or is that beyond the scope of this upgrade..?

I added your request in.
Here is the letter i wrote them that will accompany the board processor and memory. I am about to package it up so if there is anthing else better speak up.
@tj!2k4
thanks for your support. I am hoping that others will be able to benifit from this as well.

I thought I would take the time and write you with all the information, symptoms and request to give me the best chance of success. What started this all was a quest for a working resume from standby.
Symptoms:
When I would initiate a standby command the computer would successfully shut off. On resume the fans would spin up but it would never show anything on screen. I would have to reboot
Information
Order Number: 131446
Part Number: X6A6LWV5C
Operating System: XP Pro
I don’t have the original BIOS ID with me but I suspect with the board you won’t need it. I tried 2 different files that were sent to me and both didn’t work as intended. The first file I tried flashed properly but the onboard video card, network card, floppy drive and sound card were not functional. I was able to load up windows but the CPU usage quickly arose to 100%. Upon next reboot window hung on shortly after the windows loading color animation and logo and just sat at a black screen. I let it sit for 5 min before receiving a BSOD complaining of a registry file error:
“Stop c0000218 Registry file failure
\system root\system32\config\software\
or its log alternate. It is corrupt, absent or not writable”
I could get back into windows only if chose “last known good configuration” on the startup menu.
That’s when I called in to support. I explained the situation and they sent me a second file which sounded like it matched more closely because it had the onboard VGA, LAN and Sound card support. I gave it a try this time creating a bootable CD and flashing it manually. It looked like it flashed okay but upon reboot the motherboard complained with a repetitive long beeeeeeeeep.
I called into support again and they offered to send me a pre-flashed bios chip. I had opted to send the board in because I feel that there Is a larger chance for success if you had the actual board on hand.
Special Requests:
• The main thing I would like working is Resume from standby. (note: try it 5 times in a row because once in a while it would work but rarely)
• I would like a disk or an email of the Bios file that works up to these standards
• The next thing is I have a P4-M processor. I would like it to detect and run at the proper speed. Right now it defaults to 1.1 or 1.2ghz and it should be 1.6ghz
• The next thing if possible would be the option to run the display resolution of “800x480” at different refresh rates (60hz, 70hz, 75hz) with the onboard VGA card. I understand that this requires a BIOS / Driver combination and will only be accessible through the “list all modes” in the advanced tab in the display properties but at least if we have the bios end covered I can work on getting the correct driver.
• Lastly the P4-ITX board doesn’t kill the power to the USB devices on standby or hibernate. It would be most helpful to have an option in the BIOS to accomplish this.
If all these things can be accomplished I would be most satisfied
