Power switch question

...maybe a simple question, but I want to run a switch from my mobo and mount it on my dash somewhere that would turn the power on/off to my pc. What kind of switch do I need. I was using the hacked power button from an old tower. I thought I needed a momentary switch but that didn't work so well.

The switch would run to the pins on my mobo if that helps.

A normally open momentary switch.

If the cable run is long, you might get better results from a relay and switch.

It's actually called a 'normally' open momentary switch?
