Question Sound cards....

Ok, i recently ordered a Sound Blaster PCI 64 for $25. Well, the shipped out a cheap *** Creative Labs Ensoniq card, with no apparant line level out. The list of features says it has a line out, but there is only one output jack on the card, so i would assume this is a powered speaker out jack, is this right? I dont want to send a powered signal into the aux port of a new head unit (i decided on a new cd player if you read my last post). If the Ensoniq does have an unpowered output, i wont worry about returning it, if not, ill send it back and look for something else.

Thanks

(btw, they have already agreed that i could send it back, and they damn well better for shafting me with something that i didnt order)

The Ensoniq has a set of jumpers that allows you to change the output from speaker level to line level. Just move them to "Line Level". I believe there are two jumpers at the top left of the card.

I couldn't find any jumpers, but i noticed that "line out" is printed next to the output jack. I still dont understand how i can listen to it on headphones, and adjust the volume on my computer with an unpowered output. Possible?

Yeah, it makes sense. Headphones use almost no power. They will work off of line level
