USB audio troubles..
I put the USB audio out in the computer this week and it sounds great, but i've been having some problems.
After booting i occasionally don't get any sound, just a little fuzz. I got the player inside today and found that every thing loads fine, winamp starts playing, but no sound. I tried switching the line to the sound card (it still in till there i get an alternative means of control) and i still get nothing.
This only happens something....?
Before i forget the USB audio is a Xitel MD-AN1.
any help/thought would be great. thanks

is it loading the driver for the USB audio? A while back I was using some yamaha usb speakers, and they were great, except every few times i would boot up, the driver for them wouldnt load, and thus they were disabled, and the onboard sound was re-enabled - it would take a few reboots to get the system going - very frustrating, so in the end i gave up and just used the normal line out on tne onboard sound - the quality, whilst not the best is absolutely fine for the car.

Tried unplugging and then plugging in the USB sound dongle (I hate to call it a card, because it isn't) to try and get the drivers to start up?
Sound like a simple driver issue to me, but I could be wrong.

just a guess but if you have onboard sound try disabling it in the bios. Also remove your soundcard if you have one. The 2 sound devices would create a race condition (the one that starts up in hardware first loads its drivers). Just a guess though.

well i think i got it..
drivers where loading cause there was no sound out of the card (the one on plugged into the motherboard) but also none out of the usb source.
I turned the winamp volume down a little, and that seemed to help alot (like 11/12 boots good) and then i found some A3D software that was there from when i tried my turtle beach card. took that out and so far its been all good.
*knock*knock*
Thanks folks
