Lightbulb 640 x 480 Passive Matrix Color , 6 inch eio, or parts express?

Hello! Okay guys. I need to get a lcd for my system. Shold i get the 640 x 480 Passive Matrix Color VGA LCD with ISA controller from AllTech (it works right of the box correct?), the eio 6 inch one (i would need to pay soemone to make it operational since i have no electronical experience and would the creative labs decoder card at http://www.accessmicro.com/productin...d=HDCLDVDINLAY be bale to alos be my video output for the lcd or would i need a sperate video card?), or should I get the parts express (it works right out of the box right? and is it pretty easy to see? what res can it run?) If I can get my hands on an i-opener I am going to mess with that thing Well please add your input! thanks!

I have the grey-scale 640x480 LCD w/ ISA controller. You definitely cannot see it in direct sunlight but if you can get it in the shade it quite descent - i only have real visibility problem during very sunny afternoons. I opted for this over the Sharp 6" because I didn't want to hassel with the electronics of getting it working and I heard the font resolution was poor. The LCD is 9.5", I wish is were smaller (6" would be cool) but all-in-all it was certainly worth the $90 i paid. When I was ordering the LCD the guy told me they were going to have the color LCD soon and that it was much more visible in sunlight and had a better viewable angle...

The grey-scale LCD worked out of the box on 6 different motherboards except one from Gigabyte and I don't know why. If you haven't already bought your mobo, and you want this LCD, I would wait until the display comes in to buy your mobo because if it doesn't work you'll have time to trade in your mobo for a new one...

In my opinion the VGA display is more flexible in the long run, but you're definitely gonna need room in you car to use it.

Well thank you very much for your input. Your right, 9.5" is quite large... I am thinking now of opting for the 4 inch parts express. (9.5 is just tooo big. And I dont want to have to mess with getting the sharp running.) So...hum. I do want to be able to read file names. So I am not sure now...hehehe. I will have to ponder this. Plus I am trying to get my hands on a I-Opener. Anyone else wanna tell me how the 4 inch parts express one works and the 5 or 6 inch eio one? Thanks!

if money is no object, you could check out the LCDs at www.flat-panel.com . I think they have some 6" screens there.
