Powered Hub, Lots of USB Devices! Will this work?

Right basically I’m going to buy a 7 Port Powered USB Hub, I have lots of USB devices I want to get going on my pc and I have a list of everything!
Could someone please help me out and let me know whether what I have got down will work, or fail miserably!

I’m pretty new to this, so what I’m doing may seem absolutely stupid!

Here we go:

-7 Port USB 2.0 Powered Hub
--1. USB Radio tuner
--2. USB TV Tuner
--3. Creative Sound Blaster Live - 24bit External 5.1 Sound Card
--4. USB Device for Composite
--5. Globalsat BU353 USB GPS Receiver - SiRF Star III
--6. Mini 4 port usb2 hub
---1.Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter 100 meters
---2.Mentor Wireless USB Adapter - 802.11g
--7. Mini 4 port usb2 hub - £6.11
---1. Sony Ericsson Cable for phone
---2. Mini USB keyboard
---3. Mini USB mouse
---4. Touch screen

Thanks ever so much people

Adam

So do i have to split direct from the motherboard? or can i do it through the hub?

For example would i need:
-Powered Hub into mobo - For USB2.0 Devices
-Powered Hub into mobo - For USB1.x Devices

OR

-Powered Hub into mobo
---USB Hub For USB2.0 Devices
---USB Hub For USB1.x Devices

Thanks alot

Directly from the mobo, because some USB 2.0 Hub will fall to usb1.1 protocol if you mix highspeed and slow device (and you can't tell how a hub will handle the situation, when you're about to buy it).

So
-Powered USB2.0 Hub into mobo - For USB2.0 Devices
-Powered USB1.1 Hub into mobo - For USB1.x Devices (save $)
is the way to go

Some devices are picky too, they simply refuse to work with a hub.....

Check everything more complex than mouse, kbd,tsk or gps first :blootooss, wifi, tuners & soundCard devices, to figure out if they work fine with a hub. Then figure how to connect evrything.

Rule of thumb : avoid daisy-chaining hubs from different brand/model. and even if theorically, USB supports 127 peripherals daisy-chained, avoid.....

I am going to have a similar setup, 6 devices. Here are a couple of questions:
1. Is the only benefit of splitting 2.0 and 1.1 - cost?
2. As far as powering the hub, does it have to be externally powered or just a USB connection will do?
3. Is there are a limit of how much throughput you can have with a usb mobo? Can you have too many devices?
Thanks a lot,
t.
